Customer's Fault Description
It looks there is a battery leak and the corrosion caused the malfunction.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Arcam SA30 Amplifier remote control unit arrived safely from Hong Kong and on testing was found to be dead and the battery compartment did have signs of battery leak corrosion.

When opened there were many traces open circuit from the corrosion (see images), this was on both sides.

The print was reworked which then restored full functionality (see testing video)
