Power is going to the remote but the functioning buttons are not working it’s as if it has froze

This remote arrived safely and on inspetio nthe cable was found to be damaged at one end, even though the cable tested as continuous it is beleived that it most likely had a intermittent break due to the damage.
The control was checked internally with no issues being found. A replacement higher quality cable was supplied. The customer is to test the remote fully on return.
