Customer's Fault Description
Replaced battery on the remote 4 weeks ago all worked fine. Remote stopped working yesterday - awning wont move and the no red light on the remote when pressing the buttons. Tried another new battery - still not working. Help !
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Somfy remote control arrived safely from Windlesham and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
The battery included was totally drained. When the PCB was removed the reason for the drained battery was found to be due to one of hte buttons having a resistance across its contacts due to contamination (see image).
All buttons were removed, the PCB cleared of all contaminants and then new buttons fitted.
Once a new battery was fitted the battery drain was found to be remedied. A Duracell battery will be supplied fitted on return.
