Dead after changing battery

Remote Fixer Repair Response

THis garage door remote arrived safely from Alresford and on testing was foudn ot be functioning on each button. Whilst talking to the customer regarding the possible fault the remote did show erratic response on a few random button presses.

On closer inspection there was contamination over part of the battery housing and also a few of the SMD components. (see images). THe battery housing was removed completely and all contaminants removed.

The remote was then foudn to be funcitoning again as normal. There does seem to be a micro second delay when a button is pressed and when the LED illuminates but the controller is sending an RF signal on all button presses (see testing video)

The customer is to test the remote on return. A Duracell battery will be supplied fitted on return.
