Remote control is dead no response to any button activated despite fully charged batteries

This Arcam remote control arrived safely from Sutton and on testing was found to be dead.

On opening this was found to be due to contamination over the negative internal terminal.  This seems to be crystallised acid remnants from a battery leak.

The terminal was etched clear of all contaminants which restored full functionality (see testing video)
