Westin RC001 Remote Repair Details
This Westing Cooker extractor hood remote control arrived safely from London and on inspection the PCB was moving freely inside the control, this would make the buttons non responsive till the PCB was physically moved into the correct position. This fault did not match the customers fault description and because of this the customer was contacted to explain the issue. It was concluded to repair the PCB mounting. This was done and the PCB hot glued firmly into position (it is not known if the mounting pin had broken during shipping or if it was prior to shipping).
The functionality of the remote was then fully tested and the remote was found to be transmitting on each button as per normal and the cdeset being transmitted was also confirmed as correct.
The customer is to retry pairing the remote with the hood again and failing that it looks to be an issue with the hoods receiver (safely check for any blown mains fuses just in case, before hiring an electrician)
A Duracell battery will be supplied fitted on return to eliminate the issue being a customer battery fault.
