I went to use it for first time this year and it wont work. I put new batteries in it but still not workinhg
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This electric fire remote control arrived safely.
On testing the remote was found to transmit an infra red signal on each button press as per normal operation. The code being transmitted was confirmed to be correct.
The remote was opened to check for defects but no fault could be replicated.
The when reassembled and re-tested the remote was found to have stopped working, fiddling with the batteries would make it stop and start working.
On closer inspection of the bottom battery terminals there was a small amount of rust which was causing an intermittent connection.
The terminals were etched clean then recoated which then restored consistent functionality.
