The remote isn’t working the connection where the battery goes looks worse for wear
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Valor Electric fire remote control arrived safely from Wickford and on inspection was missing its battery cover, these cannot be replaced as spares are not available.
On adding batteries the remote was found to be transmitting permanently without a button being pressed.
When opened this was found to be due to the button contacts decomposing and contaminating the contacts on the PCB. The PCB was cleared of all contaminates and then replacement conductive pads glued under each buttons.
The corroded battery terminals were replaced, these were not a problem but would eventually corrode further so was best to replace them
Full functionality was restored.
