Customer's Fault Description
The receiver in the fire started up on its own and was stuck on the up command, so I took the battery out and since then it is not registering the 'up' command from the remote control and is not opening the gas valve as required. Both buttons register as operational on remote, they both illuminate the LED on the remote. The receiver illuminates with the 'down' command from the remote but not with the 'up' command
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Gas fire remote and receiver arrived safely and on inspection both the remote and the receiver was found to have suffered battery leaks (see images)
Unfortunately once these items have suffered battery leaks we cannot look at them as they develop faults such as they can turn the heater on without intervention making them dangerous.
