Powrtouch Evolution Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Powrtouch Evolution

Customers Fault Description : Remote only switches on intermittently when the dual ‘power on’ buttons are pressed. When it does eventually turn on it is not transmitting to the receiver so the mover does not operate, but connecting the emergency cable between handset and control panel when remote powered up, the remote then operates all aspects of the mover from the various directions/functions. Have tried to pair the handset with the panel again but as it is not transmitting the control panel is not finding the handset to pair with . I have tried 2 new batteries and with both of them the remote would not power up but if I put old battery back in the remote will mostly power up correctly but just not work with the control panel (unless connected by umbilical cord). Will send it with the old battery in situ so issue can be observed

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Caravan motor mover remote control arrived safely from Leverington and on testing was confirmed to not respond to its twin power button press.

This was due to worn button contacts.  Replacement conductive pads were glued into place which restored full functionality.  The RF signal form the remote is strong and correct at 868Mhz.

The battery terminals looked to have suffered some slight corrosion in the past from an apparent battery leak.  These were re-plated using conductive SCP.
