Customer's Fault Description
Customer forced batteries in wrong way, spring damaged display has been flickering, I can get the display on but its unresponsive so won't come off home screen
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Central heating controller arrived safely from Stockport and on testing was found to have intermittent power.
On opening there was signs of a battery leak (lots of crystalised acid around one of the terminals, see image). This was all cleared up and the terminal replaced. The internal terminals were then reinforced due to being impacted. This restored functionality but then the lower button was found to randomly actuate without being pressed. This button was replaced which restored full normal functionality.
Please note that the fitting of the batteries are now tight, this is how it is meant to be.
