Customer's Fault Description
Remote control dropped and now inoperative - buttons seem fine and depressing them registers as normal on the display but it doesn't seem to be broadcasting a signal. Making a rattling noise and a loose piece of metal is visible inside.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Gas Fire remote control arrived safely from Liverpool and on inspection was found to rattle when shook.
When tested the remote was found to function as normal with a string 868Mhz signal being present.
After talking to the customer it was decided to open the remote to investigate the rattle, this was the "vanity" metal weight which had broken away form the case. As this is metal it could be cataclysmic for the remote if it shorts out any parts of the PCB. This was hot glued back into position to prevent future issues.
