EUROHEAT Remote Repair Details
This Gas Fire remote control arrived safely and on inspection the back casing had a crack in it from an attempted opening prior to arrival wit h us.
On opening one of the terminals was confirmed to have broken away from the PCB, this was soldered back into position which restored power. We could not fault the signal being transmitted but we did notice the regulator was a 7133 which is known for failing intermittently which could effect the signal strength. This regulator was replaced and then the remote tested over a few hours with no issues being found.
The fixing screw for the back cannot be fitted as the hole is damaged from the previous opening attempt. The crack was glued to prevent further damage and the case clipped together, its not perfect but replacement cases cannot be fitted as they are not available as spares.
The customer is to test the remote on return, if the range of the remote is weak it could possibly be an issue with the receiver itself but hopefully the regulator was the culprit (without seeing the signal fault we cannot be sure of the cause)
