Customer's Fault Description
Battery Acid damage to battery terminals
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Fireplace Remote arrived safely and on inspection was found to have extremely corroded battery terminals due to a battery leak.
The battery terminals were replaced but unfortunately there was further faults found, the display shows sporadic characters when powered up and then would become blank after a short while. A temporary display was fitted but the issue still remained, unfortunately this is thought to be due to the battery corrosion causing micro print issues.
Before putting the item back together a third display was tried and this did restore functionality, it appears that the second replacement was a faulty display.
The remote was restored to full functionality.
