Most of the buttons don’t work without excessive pressure, the outer coating of the wire harness is breaking off.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Rise and recline remote control arrived safely from Dorset and on inspection was found to have a badly damaged cable and worn button contacts.

A straight cable was fitted (we cannot get the curly kind) and then replacement conductive pads were glued under each of the main buttons.
