Customer's Fault Description
Controller seems to have broken wire in the cable close to the point where the cable enters the controller. The unit switches off when the loose connection occurs, or won’t switch on in the first place. We have taped it using packing tape in the spot where it seems to maintain a connection, but this is only a temporary solution.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Massage/riser chair remote control arrived safely and on inspection the plastic cover of the screen has a crack in it (this is not replicable as spares are not available). The remote has signs of a previous opening prior to arriving with us (the top screw under the screen was not fully latched and also the stick for the bottom 2 screws was missing). The screen also has a black marking down the right side, this is not visible when the PCB is inside the casing and is not known if this will be a fault as we cannot power up the remote without a chair.
The cable was confirmed to have broken inner cores at the remote entry point. This was cut back by a few centimeters and refitted to bypass the break.
