Customer's Fault Description
Electric fire will not respond to the remote control.changed the battery but made no difference.none of the buttons work.fire is seven years old and is now discontinued.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Evoke led electric fire remote control arrived safely from Portsmouth and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
When opened the issue was found to be due to a mangled battery terminal which was caused by a battery being inserted upside down. (see image)
The terminal was reworked and also one of the LED pins was found to have broken away from the PCB. This was resoldered.
Full functionality was restored.
