Customer's Fault Description
Remote control buttons not responding. Just before the remote stopped working, the buttons went awry. Extractor lights didn’t work in sequence. The remote then ceased altogether. New batteries were put into the remote, but didn’t make any difference.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This extractor hood remote control arrived safely from Wrenbury and on testing was found to transmit without a button being pressed.
On opening this was due to contamination over the button array from an apparent battery leak.
The PCB and button pads were cleared of all contaminants which restored full functionality.
Please note that any battery that was inserted into this remote when faulty may have been drained and therefore its important to insert brand new batteries on return.
