Battery lead but also not working

This gas fire remote controller arrived safely from Southport and on inspectio nwas partially opened prior to arrival with us with a screw missing and the battery cable was broken.

The battery cable was replaced and it was then found that the regulator was faulty, this gave a erroneous battery indicator.  The regulator was replaced which restored full functionality.
