Customer's Fault Description
Stopped working. New batteries. Noticed small amount of green corrosion on battery terminals. Have dismantled it and noticed that the soldered circuit joints are loose and also show similar corrosion. Have cleaned the plastic case but not the circuit board.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Kolector pre amp remote control arrive safely from Hyde and on inspection was supplied in pieces. The battery cover was not in the package, the customer has already confirmed that this was not sent.
On testing the remote was intermittently dead, the terminal was confirmed to have a bad joint from battery corrosion, this was reworked but the problem remained.
There was a carbon link near to the terminal which had suffered corrosion making an intermittent connection.
The carbon terminal was reworked using SCP which restored full functionality.
