EGO Remote Control Repair

This Caravan motor mover remote control arrived safely from Perranporth and on inspection the case was partially opened and one of the terminals was missng.

On openign the terminal was inside the remote but attached.  When reposition the remote would illuminate when batteries were inserted but would not respond to its double power button press.

This was due to corrosion in the print causing an open circuit to the power button contacts.  The print was reworked which restored partial functionality.  The remote would power up and respond to its double power button press but the RF signal was not present on many of the directional buttons.

There was corrosion over the button array and also in parts of the print neah one of the ICs.  This all was from contamination.  The rest of the print was reworked which then restored full functionality.
