Even after replacing with new batteries remote not working. You get some power if you fiddle with batteries.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

THis Gas fire Remote Control arrived safely from Blackburn and on testing was found to have intermittent power but also the bottom button was non responsive.

The terminals were re-plated using SCP and then the bottom button replaced which restored full functionality.
