Customer's Fault Description
As your job ref 9914-20 (found via Google) the volume keys are very unresponsive, and possibly other frequently used keys. I'm guessing its wear n tear.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

THis Marantz hifi remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have non responsive volume buttons.

When opened this was due to contamination from the decomposing button contacts (see image).  The PCB was cleared of all contaminates and then replacement conductive pads glued into place.  This restored full functionality to all buttons.
