Magiglo Remote. G6R H4S Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer
Magiglo Remote.
Model
G6R H4S
Customer's Fault Description
The remote is dead. When the red button and the large flame button are pressed with the remote pointed at the fire the red light should illuminate but nothing happens.
I have been in contact with Chris Stone the technical man at Burley Magiglo and tried to reset the connection between the remote and the receiver using his instructions but nothing happens. The batteries in the receiver and the remote have been tested and although they were ok I have put in new ones. I have wiggled the battery connector as he said it may be a loose connection but nothing happened.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Remote for a Magiglo Ekos 16" Total Control Gas Fire arrived safely and on testing was found to be intermittently dead.
On opening the issue was foudn to be due to a faulty voltage regulator which instead of giving 3.3v was fluctuating between 1v and 2.3v
The regulator was replaced as well as the battery cable which restored full functionality.
Please note that any battery inserted into this remote when faulty may have been drained, it is important to only insert a brand new battery. Also when the battery is inserted the very first button press will be non responsive as the remote initiates, this is normal and only happens when a battery is first replaced.
