No life in screen display. No response from fire when remote control buttons pressed.

THis Mertik Maxitrol remote control arrived safely from The Netherlands and on testing was confirmed to be dead.

This was due to a SMD diode breaking away from the PCB.  The diode was replaced which restored full functionality.
