Customer's Fault Description
Purchased a full B&O 3500 system which included the remote. The remote is in mint used condition, but fails to operate the Beomaster tuner/amp. Have checked if IR are emitting a signal, but found nothing.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Beolink 1000 Remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to be dead.
On opning the conductive vinyl array seems to have been inserted upside down. When fitted correctly the remote would spring to life intermittently.
One of the battery terminals was found to have a small amount of contamination on its contacts form a battery leak, when etched clean the remote was then restored to full functionality.
