mertik-matitrol Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : no control of fire with remote. fire goes to full then to low then off relights on it own.works on manual.new batteries and serviced

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This remote control and receiver arrived safely from Thirsk and on testing was found to be functioning as normal on the up and down channel.

The receiver was opened to check for defects and the soldering on the battery block connections look to have been reworked (see image).

With these receivers if they suffer a battery leak, at any time in the future they can develop faults whereby they can turn the heater on without intervention (which matches the customers fault description). It is speculation that the receiver has suffered a leak in the past and the battery block replaced but as we cannot recreate the fault it is not for certain.

For safety reasons we can only recommend that the receiver be replaced if the issue re-occurs.  We do not sell them ourselves but you can get replacements from - https://ebay.us/bKIe00 - Please check with the seller for further details.
