Customer's Fault Description
Remote stopped working (no red light) so replaced the 9v Battery with a new Duracell 9v - worked that evening. a few days later, now red light very weak and again can't turn fire on (or off) - feels like battery drained again. Checked and changed batteries in the receiver unit, but no difference.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Gas Fire Remote control arrived safely from Gloucestershire and on testing was found to be draining batteries.
A thermal imaging camera was used and one of the ICs was found to heat up when power was provided, this was the cause of the battery drain.
The IC was replaced which restored full functionality.
