BMW Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : BMW

Customers Fault Description : Buttons are sticking due to previous owner spilling liquid on the remote. Functions well when buttons are unstuck

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Rear seat entertainment remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have sticking buttons.  The front of the remote was covered in a caustic liquid, this had visibly started to deteriorate the black coating of the case.

The remote was opened and given an alcohol and soap bath to remove all contaminants and then the PCB cleared.  This restored full functionality.

The facia has parts of its black coating missing due to the corrosion from whatever the substance was (see image) this was unavoidable.

The L/R select switch is also fragile therefore its important to be careful with this switch as it can easily pop out of the case due too the mounting pins being worn due to the substance contamination.  Spare cases are not available.
