Customer's Fault Description
It doesn't work. I have tried looking for the IR flash (via an iphone's Selfie camera) but nothing seen. It dates from the mid 1980s.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Pioneer remote control arrived safely from Bicester and on testing was confirmed to be dead.  This was due to corrosion on the terminals, this was reworked which restored partial functionality.  It was then found that the top row of buttons were very sluggish in response.

This was due to worn button contacts, replacement conductive pads were glued into place which restored full functionality.
