Customer's Fault Description
When a battery is in the unit the red light is always on. In this state pressing the buttons does nothing to the fire control. Sometimes when you put a battery in the remote will work for a few minutes and then the red light comes on and astys on.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This G30 - ZRHS remote control for a gas fire arrived safely from Buckinghamshire and on testing was found to randomly power up without any button being pressed.
This was due to one of the buttons having a resisntance across its contacts.
Both buttons were replaced and then the remote tested without issue over a 2 day period.
