Customers Fault Description : Remote was dropped and now won't switch on, light rattle when shaken

This Mertik Maxitrol remote control arrived safely from Canada and on testing was confirmed to be dead. This was due to a SMD diode breaking away from the PCB. The diode was replaced which restored full functionality.
