Remote still works, but only when within 1-2cm of the fireplace IR receiver. DO you think this is a problem with the remote? Is it something you will repair?

This Electric fire place remote control arrived safely from Hockley and on testing was found to be transmitting without any button being pressed.

When opened there was contamination over the PCB and button contacts.  The PCB was cleared of all contaminants and then replacement conductive pads glued into please, this restored full functionality.
