Customer's Fault Description
No function, the remote is dead. It should wake when held in the palm of your hand but nothing happens. One of the batteries leaked and the remote now no longer functions, although it looks fine except for some small corrosion around the battery contacts.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Gas Fire remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
The terminals did have signs of the battery leak. When opened a large amount of crystalised acid was found, this was scraped of but the dead issue remained. Unfortunately when these remotes sustain a battery leak the capacitive contacts of the buttons diminish. This would require and entire PCB to repair which has deemed a repair not possible.
