B&Q ceiling fan Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : B&Q ceiling fan

Customers Fault Description : the fan itself works but there is no longer any infrared light from the top of the remote (checked using a camera). Also the back battery cover doesn’t stay fixed anymore

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Ceiling fan remote control arrived safely and on testing was dead.

On opening there was two issues found.  The positive cable to the battery was detached but also the IR led was damaged and the print holding it in place also damaged.

A replacement LED was fitted and the print reworked and then the positive cable resoldered.

Full functionality was restored.

Space battery covers are not available meaning that the cover cannot be replaced, this doesn't effect functionality and can be held in place by tape (we do not do cosmetic repairs for the reason of lack of spares)
