Customer's Fault Description
The problem started when we had to press the buttons harder and harder for them to work. After a while, the lights on the remote would light up when I pressed the buttons, but the cooker hood did not respond. So I changed the battery, but it didn't help, and after a few days, the remote just stopped doing anything. No lights, nothing.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Cooker hood and extractor fan remote control arrived safely from Macclesfield and on testing was found to be totally dead.
When opened this was found to be due to one of the terminals breaking away from the PCB making a power connection not possible (see image).
The terminal was soldered back into position which restored full functionality. The code set being transmitted was confirmed to be correct for this model of remote.
