Doesn't switch on with battery (though switch on when connected through usb). Look like because of previous batteries leak

This Velux remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead when powered on from the batteries.
This was due to corroded battery terminals from a battery leak, the terminals were replaced which restored full functionality.
