Sony RM-U305C Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : Volume Up button appears to be defective. If remote is in the vicinity of the Amplifier, the volume steadily increases despite the remote not being touched. Problem ceases if the remote is disabled by removing the batteries.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Sony STR-DE685 Home Theatre & Amplifier remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be transmitting without a button being pressed.
When opened there was contamination found on the bottom third of the PCB / button array. This was all cleaned up which restored normal functionality.
