Lofrans winch / windlass Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Lofrans winch / windlass

Customers Fault Description : Replaced battery, light not coming on to say active

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Boat winch system remote arrived safely and on testing was dead.

The cause was the ribbon cable to the front button array was ripped through being creased over the years.

This was spliced together which restored partial functionality but it was then found that there was another break in the ribbon cable from corrosion.  This was bridged using conductive paint and then the cable UV treated.

Unfortunately when putting the item back together the ribbon cable failed and split apart.

It was then found that the remote is 433.92Mhz, this meant that a clone could be created but it is not known if this has worked properly, the clone remote does appear to have accepted the code.  The customer is to test the remote when they can.

The payment on this page is for a clone supply pre programmed and not a repair as stated.
