Mertik Maxitol G30-ZRHSO-Z26 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : Remote not working (can't adjust flame strength remotely but still works alright manually - turning dial by hand). No light showing on Receiver, but red light still shows on remote handset. New batteries tried on remote handset and reciever but still doesn't work. There is corrosion damage on receiver terminal due to leaking battery.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Gas fire remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing the remote was found to be transmitting as per normal but the receiver would not respond.
On opening there was signs of a battery leak and powdering inside the remote, also the oscillators look to have been worked on.
Unfortunately when these receivers suffer a battery leak we cannot repair them as they can develop numerous faults at any time after a leak, one such fault being that they can turn the fire on without intervention.
