Powakaddy Robokaddy Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Powakaddy Robokaddy

Customers Fault Description : Remote control 1 (white background) appears to work (transmit LED flashes on all button presses). However the golf trolley receiver does not see any transmissions from the remote. The receiver works fine with other remote controls that I have and use. Both remotes have the same DIL switch settings as the known working remotes. Remote control 2 (black background) appears to work (transmit LED flashes on all button presses except the RH arrow). However the golf trolley receiver does not see any transmissions from the remote. The receiver works fine with other remote controls that I have and use. Both remotes have the same DIL switch settings as the known working remotes. I have also enclosed a separate keypad cover, only two of the buttons seem to work despite the fact that this has a new adhesive keypad fitted.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

These two gold trolley remotes arrived as well as a spare facia.

On testing one remote was found to illuminate on all buttons but not transmit a signal.  This was due to a bad solder joint on the RF module.  This was soldered into place then hot glue used to prevent it breaking away easily.  The battery cable was also replaced as the original was damaged on the viny header.  Full functionality was restored to this remote.  Hot glue was used to strengthen the back of the facia as it did have some small cracks which would lead to future issues if left.

The black fronted remote was found to have a collapsed facia with non responsive buttons.  The buttons that did actuate showed that again there was no RF signal.  The RF signal issue was rectified by replacing the RF module.  The spare facia was then repaired and fitted to this remote which restored full functionality. The spare facia was found to have scratches in its traces causing open circuits, SCP was used to bridge the damage.

Both remotes are not fully functionality and are both white fronted.

The black fronted facia is beyond repair.
