Mertik G6R-H4T5-GA Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : I've got a Gazco Mertik G6R-H4T5-GA remote. With an old battery (showing around 4.5V on a multimeter) it does start/stop the fire but naturally shows the battery needs replacing. A new battery (@9.6V on a multimeter) in the remote and the display is corrupted and it doesn't connect to the gas fire.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Gas Fire Remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have a jumbled display.

This was due to the voltage regulator giving out 7.8 volts instead of the required 3.3v.

Once the voltage regulator was replaced full functionality was restored.
