Customer's Fault Description
I've got a Gazco Mertik G6R-H4T5-GA remote. With an old battery (showing around 4.5V on a multimeter) it does start/stop the fire but naturally shows the battery needs replacing. A new battery (@9.6V on a multimeter) in the remote and the display is corrupted and it doesn't connect to the gas fire.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Gas Fire Remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have a jumbled display.
This was due to the voltage regulator giving out 7.8 volts instead of the required 3.3v.
Once the voltage regulator was replaced full functionality was restored.
