Customer's Fault Description
remote stopped working . I think we might have left batteries in too long over the summer. No light shows on remote. It is used to turn fire off and on basically. I rang spares uk who have no replacement for this fire and suggested you.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote for a Dimplex electric fire arrived safely and on testing was found to be transmitting as per normal operation.
The battery terminals were found to have started to decompose due to a battery leak, this "possibly" could have caused an issue. There was also some contamination on the inside of the remote (see images). The terminals were replaced and the PCB cleared of all contaminants.
