Customer's Fault Description
Our gas fire wasn't working and a plumber has just been to look at it. We have whittled it down to either the remote control or the remote control receiver not working. The remote control has new batteries in it but is still flashing as needing batteries so I will send it to you to look at. If it is fine, then I will know I need to buy a new receiver.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to have an erroneous battery indicator.  This was due to a faulty voltage regulator.

The regulator and battery cable were replaced which restored full functionality.
