Mertik Maxitrol Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : I fitted a new battery to my remote and the display lit up correctly. I put the battery cover back on, turned the remote over and the display was blank. I rechecked the battery connection and noticed there was a black wire that was not connected presumably to the battery terminal.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Gas Fire remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to be dead due to a faulty battery cable. A replacement battery cable was fitted which restored full functionality.
