Screen broken and no longer displays anything

This Gas fire remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have a blank screen, also the remote rattled when shook.

When opened the vanity weight was found to have broken away from the PCB and broken the display.  The display was replaced and the weight hot glued back into place.  Full functionality was restored.
