Remote was accidentally dropped and the battery spring connector fell out and was mistakenly discarded. Apart from that remote in excellent condition.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Electric Fire remote control arrived safely and on testing weas dead due to missing battery terminals.  The terminals were replaced which restored full functionality.
