Customer's Fault Description
This remote was the spare, and when needed no activation light went on when the buttons were pressed. When I replaced the 2 X CR2016 batteries, the activation was illuminated permanently.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This garage door remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to illuminate without any button being pressed. This was due to corrosion / contamination over the PCB contacts for the buttons (see image). The contacts were etched clean which restored full functionality.
