Customer's Fault Description
Gas service engineer soldered a wire as wasn't working. Has stopped again as red wire loosely intact but black is disconnected.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Gas Fire (Yeoman CL5) remote control arrived safely and on testing was dead due to a damaged battery cable.  AS replacement battery cable was fitted which restored full functionality.

PLEASE NOTE - the supplied battery was 5volts instead of 9 volts, the customer will need to get a new battery on return, the dead battery will be disposed of.
