Caple Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer : Caple
Customers Fault Description : Hi, I have a Sirius BeFree S6/S 433.92 MHz remote for a Caple MC900SS cooker hood causing me a problem. I have replaced the battery and the remote will work but if I don’t remove the battery after operation the remote flattens the battery. Basically if I don’t remove the battery the remote drains it so next time I use it it doesn’t work. All buttons are working as normal.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Caple MC900SS cooker hood/extractor remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to drain the battery on insertion without being used.
An extensive component test was carried out and two SMD diodes were found to be "leaky", both were replaced but unfortunately the drain was still present.
Unfortunately, it was concluded that the issue is with the main IC which makes a repair not possible.
